I have a M.A. (Laurea) in Classics from the Università di Pisa (2006). I am currently contract researcher at the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa (research project THESAURUS: TecnicHe per l'Esplorazione Sottomarina Archeologica mediante l'Utilizzo di Robot aUtonomi in Sciami), making archival researches on 11th-15th c. CE shipwrecks in the Tuscan Archipelago.
I am supposed to defend my PhD Dissertation by the end of October 2011, at the Ph.D. School of History at the Università di Pisa (Dissertation: Economic, Fiscal, and Cultural Value of Oils in Ptolemaic Egypt), with the supervision of Carmine Ampolo, Biagio Virgilio, and Lucia Criscuolo.
I worked at the new edition of the Ptolemaic and Roman Ostraka held in the Petrie Museum (London) in a research project by Serena Funghi, Gabriella Messeri, and Cornelia Römer (O.Petrie.Mus., forthcoming). Since 2006 I have been working with the team of Carmine Ampolo at the Scuola Normale Superiore for the organization of the annual Seminar of Greek Epigraphy, holding lectures for undergraduates. From 2003 I have been regularly participating at the excavations of the Scuola Normale di Pisa at the agora of Segesta.
My research focuses mainly on the economic history of ancient Greece, especially on fiscal and financial matters of the Hellenistic age; Risk perception, willingness, and aversion in the ancient Greek world; Greek epigraphy; Medieval commercial archives; I held lectures at international and national seminars and congresses, e.g. the Onzième Université d’été de philosophie, histoire et pensée économiques, in Paris (Sorbone, Saint Dénis), 1st-6th Sept. 2008; the 10th days of Experimental Economies, in Dijon, 14th-17th May 2008; the Seminario Avanzato di Epigrafia Greca, Bologna, 15th-17th Jan. 2009; the Colloque sur la Cambridge Economic History of the Greco-Roman World, Paris X – Nanterre, 13th Feb. 2010; the 26th International Congress of Papyrology, Geneva, 16th-21st Aug. 2010.
